In September we attended a board meeting at Lake Bronson. I did not realize till then the beauty of the grounds. The lake is magnificent and stocked with fish during the summer months. Lake Bronson also has canoes, floats, and a diving platform positioned in the middle of the lake. The lake also has a natural hot springs at one point. There is a dock for sunning all times of the year. There are hiking trails which lead to a beautiful waterful and going further to the river. The accommodations include rooms upstairs from the main office as well as, cabins located near showers and bathroom facilities. There is a lodge equipped with a full kitchen and a rec room and dance area downstairs.

All of this said the members were gracious and extremely welcoming to everyone. I would say they are a very friendly bunch who welcome all new comers.

If you cannot already tell from my descriptions, I really enjoyed the emenities. I would encourage you to visit this beautiful location which is approximately 1 hour from Seattle and 1 hour Leavenworth

During our trip south this winter we decided to visit several nudist resorts and destinations. The first stop was Silver Valley Club in Newberry Springs, California. We spent Christmas day there. It was very quiet but had a nice small lake and hot tub which we could enjoy. There were no activities going on when we were there however, they do have several weekend activities each month. We would like to go back and spend some additional time there.

We also stayed at Magic Circle in Quartzsite at LaPosa South for 2 weeks. This is a Naturist place where there are activities every day of the week. Something for everyone. They had everything from canoeing to crafts to common movies and even movies to borrow. Plus a social hour everyday.

Venturing south we made a stop at DeAnza Springs which has some wonderful hiking opportunities into some very unique areas. they are located in Jacumba, California and everyone is very friendly. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, exercise room, hotel, rental units and a cafe open 3-4 days and evenings a week. We enjoyed the hiking and plan to go back within the year.

Just north of Pheonix we stayed at Shangri La for a few nights. They have a lot of full time folks therefore, there is always something going on there. There are 2 pools, hot tub, cafe, weekly dances on Saturday night and we were lucky enough to be there for their Chili Cook off which had 18 participants. Yum, yum!!

All in all we had a great time and look forward to visiting more places in the future.

Recently, Howard and I journeyed to Glacier National Park to see the amazing scenery there. After we left Glacier we traveled back through Idaho taking US 12 which follows the Lewis & Clark trail and the Nez Perce trail. We stopped at a beautiful hot springs that was used by Lewis and Clark called the Stanley Hot Springs. It is a 5+ mile hike which begins in the Wilderness Gateway campground. Howard has been here 10 years ago and highly recommends it.

Melissa and I went to Valley View Hot Springs during a western US vacation in 2002. I recommend it if you are in the San Luis Valley area of Colorado.

Their web site now says that they limit attendance to keep from overwhelming the facilities. If you plan to go make reservations per the instruction on this page:
http://www.olt.org/visitor_info/first_time_info.htm

Valley View is clothing optional, but the two times I’ve been there I don’t recall seeing any non-nude bathers. Our first visit was in 1977. Yes, that was 35 years ago.

The photos on the web site look about the same as I remember it. rb
